Jerry graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. Degree in Engineering and a M.S. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. In the next 10 years he became a Certified Professional Photographer, earned his Photographic Craftsman Degree and his Master of Photography along with the American Society of Photographers prestigious Education Degree and was honored with the National Award from Professional Photographers of America and the Life Time Achievement Award from Wedding and Portrait Photographers International along with their Accolades of Photographic Artistry.
Jerry’s achievements in producing award winning photographic images are numerous. Many of his prints have been selected for the National Traveling Loan Collection. He had images selected for display at Epcot Center in Walt Disney World six consecutive years. One of his images was chosen to be displayed at the world’s largest photographic exhibition in Photokina, Germany and many other images at Eastman Kodak and Hasselblad displays at national conventions. His work has been published in a number of books.
He received dozens of first place awards for his work at local, state, national and international judging events. He was named Photographer of the year five times. Jerry has served and was President of three local and state photographic boards as well as President of the American Society of Photographers. He is also an International Photographic Judge.
While he has spent a great deal of his life dedicated to his passion of photography, his second love is the beaches of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Having traveled to the “Banks” since 1974 and owned homes and lived part time there, he has been able to create for the past 20 years his style of family portraiture for visitors to these incredible beaches. His passion for the Spanish Mustangs who once roamed all through the “Banks”, called him to write a table top photographic book about them which is sold by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund with him donating the proceeds to help care for the horses.
Jerry’s current desire is to not only photograph lasting memories for visitors to the Outer Banks but to create unusual and unique ideas to inspire families when they view their portraits on tables and walls in their home as more than just a photograph but an art piece to treasure.
